Logan's 18 month vocabulary-
Over the course of the week before Logan turned 18 months I tried to pay closer attention to the words he is saying. Logan is a healthy growing boy!
Here we are at 18 months and while it is a joy, this stage of life always feels the most challenging and exhausting to me. My precious little Logan is stubborn and opinionated (no surprise here). He likes to do things himself without any help or assistance from mom/dad or brothers, unless he asks for it! (Independence starts early for the Campbell boys apparently). He still needs help obviously with many things and part of his frustration is wanting to do it himself and then not being able to do it, but he has to reach a point of realizing he needs help before he will accept it. He loves to be my helper throwing away trash, including diapers, moving laundry to the dryer, and putting away silverware in the drawer when unloading the dishwasher. Logan is also a smiley, goofy, and loving boy. He still gives brothers hugs when they cry and wants to comfort other crying children that he sees in public sometimes as well. He does things intentionally that he knows will get a laugh from brothers or other young children such as throwing his cup or food. Logan still screams and cries every time I drop him off for any type of childcare activity including church am and pm for Lifegroup every.single.Sunday... even though we are there every week! I realize he is better after a few minutes and that separation anxiety is normal, but man I am just ready for the day for him to wave and blow a kiss and go back happy again with the teachers that love and care for him so much!

Logan has a few favorites- he loves Elmo, just about any toy that makes noise, and especially toys of his brothers. The two older boys got pop guns back in Oct when we were in Ruidoso and I think Logan is the only one that plays with them almost every day. He also loves a new light saber toy that was recently added to our collection. Logan loves the "ABC" song probably the most right now, which just recently de-throned "Twinkle Twinkle" and "Happy Birthday". His very favorite book is "Chugga Chugga Choo Choo" and is one of only a handful of books that he will actually sit and listen to every single page (sometimes several times a day). He also loves lift the flap books such as his "Elmo's World" books and newly "Bubbles Bubbles" which was always a favorite of the other two since it mentions body parts and he has recently learned to point out many of these. Logan has a special little friend who we get to see walking to and from school each day and her name is Emily. They both light up when they see each other and like to exchange hugs. It is absolutely the cutest thing ever. We have never really let Logan watch TV much before and he typically doesn't care about it much, but recently I let him watch one of the new Sesame Street shows (which I think have improved and are only 30 minutes long). He really liked how many songs were in it and of course ELMO!!! His favorite parts are the clapping song for finding out the letter of the day and stomping song for the number of the day. If he loses interest in the show then hears either song, he will come running. Logan also loves being outside in our backyard or at a playground and playing with chalk and bubbles. It is hard to tear him away from either because he loves them both. He loves music in general and his dance moves are precious.

Logan is a good eater, though he is beginning to show more opinions and pickiness here than he used to as well. He is our first kid to enjoy most pasta it seems, he eats every kind of fruit you can imagine, blackberries included. I haven't found any fruits that he doesn't like. He also likes some salads as long as I give him dressing to dip in, which is a first for any of our kids. In fact, he loves to dip in general- ketchup with nuggets, hamburger, or corn dogs, honey with bread like Dad, and sometimes nuggets or salad with ranch. He doesn't eat as many veggies, mostly steamed peas and raw carrots, but I keep offering them at different meals and he generally will always pick them up and put a bite in his mouth, but then they often get spit right back out. Some veggies he only touches and then throws down, so it just depends. He loves cheese, milk, and yogurt, beans, and most meats. He also loves crackers, cereal, granola, cereal bars, apple sauce, etc. If he goes into the pantry these are the things that often are brought to me.

Logan typically sleeps 11-12 hours overnight without waking up and is down to one nap a day which varies between 2-3 hours long depending on how tired he is.

Overall, while 18 months is exhausting and a constant "on the go" and attentive type phase, I am so thankful for Logan and how he loves me and balances out our family. He is a great clean up helper and starting to really love books. He is learning new things every single day and it really is such a joy to see things through his eyes. So thankful for our healthy and happy boy.

Logan is 1 yr old (July 27, 2016)

Once again, Mom is catching up on old blog posts to update for our sweet youngest little boy. I love you Logan! ~Mommy

Logan is 1!

First 7 steps- July 6, 2016
By Aug 8th he was walking all over the place.

At his 12mo well check visit:
Weight: 20lbs 14oz
Length: 31.5"
Size 12mo clothing
Size 3 diapers
Size 4 shoe

Logan still loves almost any and all foods including steamed sweet peas, salad with dressing. His favorite is anything mom is eating. The only things he currently seems to dislike are cantaloupe, bananas and whole milk.

Logan is nursing 3 times a day when he wakes up, mid afternoon, and before bed. We are working on weaning, but so far he doesn't take whole milk or almond milk well, but enjoys any juice and water. As of two weeks after his birthday we are now down to nursing twice first thing in the morning and before bed and still not much luck adding milk into his diet. He will eat oatmeal mixed with whole milk and whole milk yogurt, so I am trying to incorporate these things in daily. (Right at 13 months seemed to be a turning point for Logan and he drinks whole milk easily and excitedly, so for that we are thankful! We weaned after Labor Day weekend in September, he just kept telling me "All Done" at night after latching on for just over a minute or two. After 3 nights putting him to bed without it, he never asked again only snuggled and "checked to see that they were still there" a handful of times. I am thankful that weaning went so smoothly with all 3 boys.)

Logan is such a joy and a sweet boy! I'm so thankful to be his mom. He is growing more each day and learning new things. He can already follow a few one step commands and seems to understand most of what we say. He is learning new words all the time and mimicking sounds. He loves his big brothers so much and gives them hugs when they cry. He has empathy down it seems. He already has many opinions and likes to do things all by himself. He hates when mom brushes his teeth, but loves when it is his turn to try. He sometimes throws a fit when I break a food into small bite size pieces because he would rather it be big for him to bite off of like a big kid. Our boys really do want to grow up too fast.

One of his birthday gifts was a push car where he rides and we push him around. He loves this gift so much and in the mornings when we head to school I say, "it's time to go!" and I can always find him sitting ready in his push car. We love you Logan and are so thankful for you.

Ethan is 4

Ethan 4 yr post- another delayed post that has been sitting in my notes of my phone for almost 5 months now. Life gets busy y'all!

Weighed 37.2lbs
Height 41.5"
4 shots- which he took like a champ without a single tear!!! Wow!

Ethan celebrated his birthday this year with family and preschool friends at Pump it up in Arlington, TX. We had a morning PJ masks pajama party with donuts, milk, juice, and coffee for the adults. The kids had a blast jumping and playing together.

A few favorites I asked Ethan to share:
Animal- puppy
Stuffed animal- big bear
Color- pink and yellow
Food- cookies
Fruit- applesauce (with cinnamon)
Drink- sprite
Toy- paw patrol toys especially his new jungle rescue Tracker toy
Book- not sure
Friend- Jorge
Candy- ring pop
Sport- soccer
TV show- Shimmer and Shine

Ethan has grown and become so much more independent in the past year. He puts on shoes, socks and clothes alone. Recently he learned to do buttons on his shirt. He can open wrappers (but still occasionally needs help). He is completely potty independent and doesn't need help wiping when he poops anymore. Woohoo! He is able to write his name pretty well and is starting to take some interest in learning to write other letters and numbers. He can count to 100 with a little help past 40 when it comes to the "tens" place. He recognizes numbers and upper and lower case letters, but we have not begun reading words just yet. I have started testing him on sounds and am pretty pleased to see him already identifying many sounds with their matching letter, but some he still misses (mostly few of the vowel sounds.) I guess it's time to start playing some site word games and bringing out the beginning BOB books.

Ethan is funny and caring, but also dramatic and a screamer when things don't go as he hopes/plans. He feels deeply love and hate. He is a peacemaker and quickly gives into his brothers wants to keep him from being sad. When Ethan gets sad and cries he looks first to his baby brother Logan for a hug (and Logan always obliges (at age 1) and says "awww" or "oohhh"). Ethan is brave and outgoing and will talk to anyone. He is quick to make new friends especially if they are girls. On that note, he has a serious magnet to girls especially ones older than him and of the "blonde hair" variety. 😂😂 Ethan is stubborn (oh genetics...) which will one day serve him well in standing for truth, but can be challenging when parenting and teaching obedience. Mike and I are often exhausted by the end of the day as all 3 boys together can be quite the challenge at times.

We love Ethan so much and are proud of the big boy he is becoming. We pray that God continues to draw him close to Himself and gives him a desire to follow after Him. We pray God will mold Ethan's heart and mind toward the gospel and to love God first and love others second.

Logan 11 months (June 27, 2016)

Logan 11 months

Pulls up to stand on anyone and everything. Cruising around the furniture and taking hesitant one step between coffee table and couch. Loves to walk assisted with his toy or anyone that will let him. He is standing some unassisted for about 5-10 seconds or so and practicing his balance. He is officially our latest walker (as he is not yet walking). I'm not sure if he will be walking by his birthday. Time will tell!

He loves giving "high fives" and blowing kisses.

He has become very proficient with the use of a fork. His favorite game is for you to stab a piece of food and hand it back so he can put it in his mouth himself then he hands the fork back. He loves this little feeding "game".

Logan loves peekaboo and squatting below the couch and jumping up to "scare" you. "Ahh!" He just laughs and laughs.

He seems to be fairly verbal. Adding to momma and dadda he asks "dis" and points to things wanting you to say what "this" is. He also answers "yes" to questions about what he wants. Other new words, "duck", (He loves rubber duckies) "juice" and he tries to mimic many words/sounds.. He is signing "please", "milk" and "more", but often gets too excited about foods I am putting out and flails around so it looks more like "all done" or does arm out palm out as if to say "hand it to me".

He does not like when one of his brothers (mostly Ethan) takes toys away from him. He protests with crying or throwing a little fit... Yes, opinionated... No surprise there.

New tooth #8 Bottom left one over- June 24th

Fav songs- if you're happy and you know it, Twinkle Twinkle and ABC song

Foods-
Dislikes- carrots, green beans, cheese, rice, and sometimes blueberries & cantaloupe

Likes- every kind of meat, fish, every kind of bread, peas, corn, sweet potatoes, baked potato, oatmeal, PASTA!!! (Yay!!!), beans (black and refried), bananas, strawberries, grapes, apple sauce, and almost all fruits. He enjoys snacks of Cheerios, white cheddar Cheetos, and crackers. He will try almost everything and mostly likes it! We'll enjoy this while it lasts... I know my kids go through phases and tend to get picky.

School's out for the summer!!

Last days of school post! Ryan had a great first year in Kindergarten at Anna May Daulton Elementary School in MISD. His teacher was Mrs. Emilie Chiozza and she was great! Ryan's last day was June 1st. He was excited for the summer, but also a little bummed to not be with his friends and teacher each day. The first photo was his idea as he said he was "sad that school is over". He wasn't sad for long as he realized we have lots of fun plans ahead this summer.

Logan, Ryan & Ethan

Sweet brothers!

May 27th was Ethan's last day of preschool at Ridge Kids (Walnut Ridge Baptist Church). He went on Tues/Thurs 9-2:30pm. He had a great year and was lucky to have a class with mostly kids from our church, Rush Creek Mira Lagos. His teachers were also very sweet. The first half of the year was Mrs. Lauren and Mrs. Melissa, the second half of the year was Mrs. Melissa and Mrs. Bonnie. He asked when he was going back to school for a few days after it was over, but is now thrilled for more playtime at home and trips to Hawaiian Falls water park with our new season passes we received for Christmas.  Here are his last day photos:
