Over the course of the week before Logan turned 18 months I tried to pay closer attention to the words he is saying. I knew with the other two boys I had a list of the number of words they said at 18 months and honestly I hadn't been keeping track, so I tried to write them down as I heard them and here it is:

Logan is a healthy growing boy!
Here we are at 18 months and while it is a joy, this stage of life always feels the most challenging and exhausting to me. My precious little Logan is stubborn and opinionated (no surprise here). He likes to do things himself without any help or assistance from mom/dad or brothers, unless he asks for it! (Independence starts early for the Campbell boys apparently). He still needs help obviously with many things and part of his frustration is wanting to do it himself and then not being able to do it, but he has to reach a point of realizing he needs help before he will accept it. He loves to be my helper throwing away trash, including diapers, moving laundry to the dryer, and putting away silverware in the drawer when unloading the dishwasher. Logan is also a smiley, goofy, and loving boy. He still gives brothers hugs when they cry and wants to comfort other crying children that he sees in public sometimes as well. He does things intentionally that he knows will get a laugh from brothers or other young children such as throwing his cup or food. Logan still screams and cries every time I drop him off for any type of childcare activity including church am and pm for Lifegroup every.single.Sunday... even though we are there every week! I realize he is better after a few minutes and that separation anxiety is normal, but man I am just ready for the day for him to wave and blow a kiss and go back happy again with the teachers that love and care for him so much!
Logan has a few favorites- he loves Elmo, just about any toy that makes noise, and especially toys of his brothers. The two older boys got pop guns back in Oct when we were in Ruidoso and I think Logan is the only one that plays with them almost every day. He also loves a new light saber toy that was recently added to our collection. Logan loves the "ABC" song probably the most right now, which just recently de-throned "Twinkle Twinkle" and "Happy Birthday". His very favorite book is "Chugga Chugga Choo Choo" and is one of only a handful of books that he will actually sit and listen to every single page (sometimes several times a day). He also loves lift the flap books such as his "Elmo's World" books and newly "Bubbles Bubbles" which was always a favorite of the other two since it mentions body parts and he has recently learned to point out many of these. Logan has a special little friend who we get to see walking to and from school each day and her name is Emily. They both light up when they see each other and like to exchange hugs. It is absolutely the cutest thing ever. We have never really let Logan watch TV much before and he typically doesn't care about it much, but recently I let him watch one of the new Sesame Street shows (which I think have improved and are only 30 minutes long). He really liked how many songs were in it and of course ELMO!!! His favorite parts are the clapping song for finding out the letter of the day and stomping song for the number of the day. If he loses interest in the show then hears either song, he will come running. Logan also loves being outside in our backyard or at a playground and playing with chalk and bubbles. It is hard to tear him away from either because he loves them both. He loves music in general and his dance moves are precious.
Logan is a good eater, though he is beginning to show more opinions and pickiness here than he used to as well. He is our first kid to enjoy most pasta it seems, he eats every kind of fruit you can imagine, blackberries included. I haven't found any fruits that he doesn't like. He also likes some salads as long as I give him dressing to dip in, which is a first for any of our kids. In fact, he loves to dip in general- ketchup with nuggets, hamburger, or corn dogs, honey with bread like Dad, and sometimes nuggets or salad with ranch. He doesn't eat as many veggies, mostly steamed peas and raw carrots, but I keep offering them at different meals and he generally will always pick them up and put a bite in his mouth, but then they often get spit right back out. Some veggies he only touches and then throws down, so it just depends. He loves cheese, milk, and yogurt, beans, and most meats. He also loves crackers, cereal, granola, cereal bars, apple sauce, etc. If he goes into the pantry these are the things that often are brought to me.
Logan typically sleeps 11-12 hours overnight without waking up and is down to one nap a day which varies between 2-3 hours long depending on how tired he is.
Overall, while 18 months is exhausting and a constant "on the go" and attentive type phase, I am so thankful for Logan and how he loves me and balances out our family. He is a great clean up helper and starting to really love books. He is learning new things every single day and it really is such a joy to see things through his eyes. So thankful for our healthy and happy boy.
