Ryan is 16 months!

Our sweet baby is growing into such a little boy before our eyes. It is so entertaining most days just to watch how his mind works. We think he is so smart! He is very busy and extremely energetic. I am thankful for Michael every evening when he comes home from work with a new burst of energy to keep Ryan entertained. They are so cute playing together. Ryan is also very social these days and loves waving and saying "hi" and "bye" to almost everyone in the store while we shop. He especially has an eye out for younger kids these days and smiles so big when he sees other "little kids" his age (and older). He also seems to think grandmotherly women are pretty fun to smile at. The rest of the post is dedicated to some of the latest Ryan updates:

New Words this month:
Cheese
Tees (trees)
Eyes
Ice
Mo (more)
Done
Uh Uh (for no, he mostly says it when he is doing something he isn't supposed to do)

Activities:
*Attempts jumping- see YouTube video
*Loves somersaults- you can ask him and he bends over and puts his head and hands on the floor
*Did a trial class for Little Gym in May and signed up for the summer session which meets every Thursday from 9:15-10am. It's the "birds" class
*We have lots of MOPS play dates scheduled for this summer!
*Ryan loves the zoo and the last time he got to go on the train (loved) and the carousel (wasn't too sure about that just yet- when the horses go up and down he gets nervous)
*Ryan spent his first 2 nights in a row away from Mom and Dad last weekend
*In July and August he will have 3 nights in a row without us!! Mike and I are getting some vacation time while we can! It's good for Ryan too I think, but we do miss him.
*Ryan is still a big fan of books and the current favs are "First Words"- baby Einstein, "My little Animal Book", "ABC"- baby's first library, "Feed Me I'm Hungry", "Animals"-slide window book, "Who" lives where...., and any book with open the flap windows!! He loves those! (Also any ABC book he will pick up and say A... A....A I think he might recognize just that letter or the sound of what we say when we ask if he wants to read the ABC book?? Pretty cute!)
*This month we bought Cedarmont Kids 100 Bible Songs DVDs which I got for a bargain with a coupon at Lifeway Christian Stores. For about 30 minutes a day Ryan will get TV time and we will dance and sing to the Bible songs or watch Elmo's World (the last 20 min of Sesame Street). Those and our nursery rhymes DVD are the current favs.

I think that about wraps it up! Until next month :) We love you Ryan!!
Love,
Emily
