Logan is 8 months old

Logan 8 months old- March 27, 2016

Size 3 diapers
12 month sleepers, 9mo separates for clothes, but 12 month size for anything one piece
Guessing around 21 pounds maybe?

Nursing- 4 times a day, when he wakes up, around 11:30/12, around 4pm, then at bedtime 7:30ish. He is finally consistently sleeping through the night for 12+ hours WITHOUT waking up!! Hooray!! (Minus a couple nights this week after turning 8 months been up around 3am teething pain?!??)

Logan takes 3 naps a day on school days (2 one hour and 1 two hour nap) and typically 2 longer naps on non school days when he can sleep in past 8am.

New Foods he tried: Strawberries, honeydew melon, whole milk yogurt, brown&white rice, tofu, chicken, turkey

I haven't found a fruit or vegetable baby food that he won't eat yet. Not a huge fan of tofu or avocado.

Logan is signing "all done" and we are working on "more" and "please" for now he just keeps opening his mouth excited for food when he wants more.

Logan is waving "hi" and mimics the sounds with shrill noises that sound like he is saying "hi" too. Last week he also started waving "bye" and even one time when Mike was talking about "it was almost time to go" he started waving. It is so cute to see him starting to understand words.

Understands the word "no" and responds to it by crying or shaking his head no.

Is loving a Sippy cup with water! He has finally figured out how to do it without me tilting it back and is rather pleased with his accomplishment. He has also figured out how to drink out of a straw!

The past few weeks he has begun pushing himself up into a sitting position from laying down and often find him sitting up waiting for me in his crib after nap time.

Crawling everywhere. Occasionally knees up, but his most preferred method is the army crawl because he is quick!

Trying to stand and pull up and loves standing with assistance often!! Starting to see some temper and opinions forming when he doesn't get his way. Oh boy, Here we go...

Learning how things fall to the floor and don't just disappear. He is practicing this new knowledge by knocking Cheerios to the floor on purpose and watching where they fall. 😐

Balloons are the most exciting thing and he gets crazy excited about them! He also loves when his Daddy comes home from work and greets him with squeals and smiles.  And the new "dada" word referring to his Daddy!

Logan is 7 months old

Logan 7 months (belated post saved from my phone a month ago!)

Weight: guessing around 20lb, no clue on length
Clothes: 9 month and also 6-12 month, 9 month sleepers (about to move up to 12mo pjs)
Diapers: size 3
Shoes: size 2

Foods he has tried:
Pears, blueberries, pumpkin, corn, blackberries, avocado, pineapple, raspberries, spinach, peas, sweet potatoes

Blueberry puffs
Sweet potato puffs
Cheerios
Pancakes

He got his second tooth, bottom right on 2/14

Logan is army crawling to get places, loves attention from strangers and family, loves to laugh at his big brothers, is in general very happy and mild tempered. He loves playing peekaboo and playing with a ball with his big brothers. He is totally distracted these days when nursing if anyone else is around and I have no luck keeping him from noticing the TV when the boys watch a show no matter how many toys are around. He gets very excited when Daddy comes home and calls for "momma" when he cries.

Logan slept thru the night for the first time the night before turning 7 months old, but generally is still up once overnight. Mom needs to get brave and let him cry it out overnight because I know he can sleep better than he has been most of the time. I guess since I know he is my last baby I am baby-ing him with a few extra snuggles and cuddles at night which I do love (if once and not 2-3 times overnight), but makes me pretty tired some days.

He is learning to use a Sippy cup with water and gets so proud of himself when he figures it out. It has a suction spout so he has to suck to get anything to come out. He mostly still plays with his cup however.

Saying "momma" when he cries or calls for me. Other babbles of baba, dada, etc.

Logan is 6 months old!

Logan is 6 months old

Weight: 18lb 4oz (64%)
Height: 28.5" (98%)
Size 3 diapers
Size 6-9mo clothes

-He got his first tooth, bottom left side on 1/27

-He is a grabber! Grabs hair, clothes, jewelry, and anything within reach

-He loves tags! Tags on toys and even found a tag on his crib bumper

-He is our first pacifier baby and loves his monkey wubanub

-The past month was full of ear infections and a case of RSV for Logan that required breathing treatments for Bronchiolitis. We are hopeful for the next year to be full of good health and no more Dr visits.

-has started to cover and uncover his face and play "peekaboo"

-he is working on sitting up all alone and can do so for brief periods of time, but still has to be carefully watched or have a boppy pillow behind him because he will still fall over backwards.

-began solids this month. He has tried bananas, oatmeal, squash, apples, carrots, green beans, peaches, and sweet potatoes. In general he didn't seem to excited about anything but oatmeal until this past week. He also doesn't like oatmeal mixed with breastmilk, only warm water and gobbles it up like crazy. Most of the time all I get are 2-3 bites of any other food except Sunday (24th) he ate all his apples (2oz) and squash (2oz) over the course of two different meals. That's the most he has ever eaten.

p.s. For the record, I think we have the cutest babies on the planet. I can never pick only one photo for these posts. I love them all!!

Logan is 5 months old!

Logan 5 months old
(Another belated post written Dec 29th)

No length measurement or official weight check this month, but we did visit the Dr a few times....
16lb 9oz (Dec 21st)
17lb (Dec 29th)
Size 3 diapers
Size 3-6 mo clothes
6 mo sleepers

Sleep- To be honest from his first cold/cough to ear infections, it seems non-existent the past few weeks. Logan got his first ear infection sometime around Thanksgiving. It started with his left ear and now is double ear infection. He prefers being held and rocked to sleep during the day and doesn't like to be laid down which I assume is because of pressure on his ears, so snuggling with mommy it is! He generally goes down at night easily (7:30), but is waking every 3-4 hours again like a newborn. It is exhausting for this momma. I feel so bad that he is hurting and he isn't great about taking medicine which makes it that much harder on us both. I did finally get some ear drops for pain that I was able to give him today and it seemed to help him during the day and I am hopeful for tonight (29th) *update it was awful... Up at 11, 1, 4, 6, then 7:30 for the day. 😴 oof! This momma is sleep deprived and wants her good little boy sleeper back! Praying that he is healed and better soon!

Logan is rolling back to tummy and tummy to back now and does it quickly with little effort these days. He is starting to sit up better on his own. Of course he still needs Mom or Dad sitting behind him for when he falls over. If he falls straight forward he is able to push himself back up to a sitting position, but can only maintain it on his own a few seconds before falling backwards or to the side. He is very strong! Logan just enjoyed his first Christmas with lots of new teething toys. He drools and chews on anything and everything he can get in his mouth. I imagine the first teeth are only a few weeks to one month out. When not hurting from his ears, Logan is a very happy baby who loves to smile at others when they look his way and pay attention to him. He is newly loving to hear the sound of his voice and "talks" and squeals with happy noises throughout the day. (Sometimes he is VERY LOUD!) Logan especially loves all the hugs and attention he is getting from his big brothers. They love him too!

Logan had his first bites of baby oatmeal today (Dec 29th) and wasn't too sure what to think about it. He didn't seem to like it even though it was mixed with breastmilk. He did love chewing on the soft spoon. I had planned to wait until 6 months, but starting a new stronger antibiotic today, I wanted something to hopefully help his tummy as he was having trouble after the amoxicillin. I don't think I will start a consistent feeding schedule with solids just yet, but try once a day to give him some while taking this medicine. At 6 months we will get more serious about trying foods. He is still nursing generally every 3 hrs during the day (except if a feeding falls over nap time he will extend 4-5hrs) and hopefully he will get back to extending his nights soon. I have been feeding him at least once and sometimes twice overnight lately. Go away ear infections, you are not welcome here!!

Logan is 4 months old!

*Please pardon the fact that this is 3 months late being posted. It has been sitting in the notes on my phone and I am just now getting around to being on an actual PC. So sorry 3rd child, it may be late, but you really are loved! Kisses!

Logan is 4 months old!

Weight: 16 lbs
Height: 26.5"
Wears 3-6 clothing, 6 mo sleepers
Size 2 diapers

Grabbing (and eating) toes
Jabbering up a storm
Blowing raspberries/bubbles
New favorite shaking his head "no" back and forth (I think it must make things look funny to him)
He is so "grabby" he grabs my watch, my hair, clothing, and tries to get my iPhone daily. Everything goes straight to his mouth!
Trying to roll over from back to tummy, but not achieved just yet
Seems to be teething Gumming/biting on any toy or teethers
Sleep has had some disturbances the past two weeks and not consistent like he used to be. He is sometimes nursing twice a night and waking up just talking and playing at times. Mom is tired and ready for him to return to a good sleep habit.
Naps are shorter these days as well 3 about 1hr long and then a small 30 min nap around dinner time generally to help him make it to bedtime. Sometimes in the afternoon if I am able to lay down with him he will nap for 2 hours. Goes down easily at bedtime after nursing. During the day he is nursing almost 3 hrs clockwork most of the day.

Logan is 3 months old

Logan is 3 months old

Size 3-6mo clothing
Size 1 diapers- soon to be in sz 2

Logan is such a sweet baby. He has really found his voice lately and likes to be a chatterbox when he is awake. He has discovered his hands and gets cross-eyed looking at them. He is learning to control them better and reaches and is able to grab toys on his bouncer seat and a rattle if it is placed in his hand. His hands and toys go directly to his mouth often. He is rolling from tummy to back and I think his little peach fuzz hair is starting to grow and continuing to look brown at least for now.

Logan sleeps great at night generally 8-9hours from bedtime at 7:30pm until he wakes to nurse. Then he generally will want to nurse again around 7:30-8am. He naps mostly on the go lately with our busy schedule, but when at home I can count on him taking about an hour nap in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon plus a bonus 30/45min snooze around dinner to help him make it to bedtime. He naps mostly in his bed, but occasionally in the afternoon with Mom. On the go he naps in the carrier I have borrowed from my friend and he does great snuggled in close to Mom. Overall, his personality seems sweet and easy going, but don't mess with the guy if he is hungry- he wants it now! And if he has gotten overly tired he will fuss, but take a pacifier and go to sleep easily. My first baby to take a paci at all. We'll take it for now!

So thankful for this sweet little one that made me a mommy of 3 boys. He completes our family and we are so grateful for him. Excited to watch him as he grows and changes each day.

Ethan is 3yrs old

This cute little guy has recently turned 3 years old! Wow! Time sure does fly. Ethan is a kid full of energy and spunk. He has some of the funniest things to say and lots of cute expressions to go along with it. Lately, early bedtimes are not his thing, but he could still nap for 3 hours a day if Mom would let him. We are trying to find a balance with keeping nap, just earlier and shorter, and still getting in bed asleep by 8-8:30pm. This past 9pm business is for the birds and makes Mom and Dad get frustrated some evenings. It is hard when he seems so cheery and happy to get mad with him for not sleeping, but it happens. Current goals are stay in bed and be quiet even if he doesn't want to sleep. He seems to have pretty much mastered staying in bed (except for a request for his blanket to be fixed or a potty run), but is often found singing and talking in bed which is loud as "whispering" just isn't his thing.

Ethan loves everything Lego Duplo, Paw Patrol, cars, and balls. He could also entertain himself for probably an hour playing outside in the backyard if I let him. He only wishes his big brother would share his love for the outdoors because he eventually gets lonely being alone out there with Mom watching on as I am often caring for baby Logan. Ethan is enjoying his first year of preschool with his friend, Jorge Saldivar, and attends Ridge Kids in Mansfield on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am-2:30pm. He is learning new songs and the playground and music are his favorite parts of the day. We are trying to work on some scripture memorization, but he just isn't quite as interested as Ryan was at this age. He gets in the frame of mind where either he wants to do EVERYTHING by his "big self", or he can't to ANYTHING. So far Bible verses seem to fall under the "I don't remember, or I just can't do it" window. He is persistent and stubborn and clever about getting his way. He loves playing with big brother, Ryan, and after school they can be found running around the house with some type of imaginative play generally involving Paw Patrol characters.

Ethan had his 3 yr well check last week and weighed in at 32.4lbs (50th%) and 38.5" long (75th%). He is healthy and growing great, just dealing with his first ear infection this past month which has so far dragged on to two rounds of antibiotics (his first time having any!!). The whole family seems to have been dealing with allergies and a persistent cough and somehow I feel the ear infections must be related to the same virus/illness. We are hopeful it clears up very soon. Ethan is in 3T clothing, size 8.5 shoes, and can fully dress and undress himself minus his socks. Ethan has been in undies and completely potty trained since November of last year and was truly the EASIEST potty trainer yet. I am really very thankful. There seems to be something magical about 2 months after turning 2yrs old. After being in undies for about a month last year, he was staying dry at night too so he was in undies at night around Christmas or after it seems, but after a tummy bug late January, we had some issues with accidents overnight and Mom was tired and pregnant, so back into Easy Ups at night he went. He didn't remain consistent again until early this summer. When Logan was born, Ethan decided he was going to be a big boy again at night and wear undies like Ryan to bed, and thus far he has been back in undies overnight for a little over 2 months with only one accident of wetting the bed. Way to go big boy!

Below is a list of Ethan "sayings" and conversations that I have kept on my phone over the past 9 months or so because they were just so funny, or cute, or simply things I wanted to remember. I am posting them here for my own reference to look back on, but you might enjoy reading through them as well.  Ethan, you are a joy to our family and such a great little brother and big brother. Thank you for all the sweet smiles and hugs and kisses every day. You are loved!

Ethan conversations:

"Mommy have two babies", (I explain no, there is only one baby). He continues to argue that there are in fact two babies and points to each of my breasts "one baby, two baby". Then I had to explain that baby was in my tummy even though you couldn't see or feel him yet. (Jan 2015)

Boys wanted to wrestle and Dad said no bc Mom is in bed with our baby, so Ethan says:
"Mom get outta heah, we westlewing"
(March 2015)

Late night thoughts by E before bed all in the time span of a few minutes while I was rocking him in the nursery:
Looking at the smoke detector- "Mom, if der a yire (fire) in our house I dunna run out. The yire engine dunna come and det me"
"I tink baby name dunna be Henry, I dunno go tell Daddy his name is Henry" (which he did)
"Da ellow (yellow) train going tru de tunnel and it dark in der"
"Row row row your boat" song
(April 2015)

Laying in bed one night next to Ethan as he was trying to fall asleep. After about 5 min of complete silence he says: "Mom, does your tee tees come out of your bottom cause you no have a penis?" 😂 no Ethan, mommy has girl parts and doesn't tee tee out of my bottom. (May 2015)

Sitting in the rocking chair with Ethan before bed and I had a little toot, Ethan says "oh, I hear baby have a little burp" (lol)

"I tee a pider and I mashed it." (I see a spider and I smashed it) "Now it dead fowever." (May 2015)

When he gets mad at us he says "mommy (or daddy) I don't love you anymore." (Ouch)
Once he told me "I no love you mommy, I only love baby" pointing to my pregnant belly.

"Not you peas help me. I gonna do it by mytelf (myself)" (June 2015)

During TCU baseball playoff game mentioned their coach is Coach Schlossnagle. Ethan's response- "oh, dats a good name. Etan and Ryan Shoshnagle" 😆 haha

Latest Ethan-isms, (June)
"When I a Daddy, I donna (gonna)...."
- go to work like Daddy
- drink a beer
- drive a fast fast car
- go to the grocery store all by mytelf (myself)

"Daddy, I love you a million and million and million, a lot!"

Anytime we give Ethan a compliment he says "Nanks" (Thanks) it's pretty cute.

When Ryan gets upset with Ethan over something he often says "Ethan Robert Campbell" (though honestly I rarely say that). So, this week Ethan has started saying "Ryan Robert" when he gets mad at him haha! Ryan is quick to correct him that Alexander is his middle name, not Robert but it's still pretty funny. 😊 (July)

Talking about Logan in my belly- "he been in der long long time. Maybe he not ever dunna come out"

Ethan's nightly prayer (for MONTHS)
"Dear God, please help Daddy feel better and just help us be safe and healthy and just help us be safe and healthy. (x6) Amen."
(Dad was sick once in I think February...)

When meeting Logan, (July)
"Aw, he so 'toot' (cute). Him have any teeth?" No sweetie, he doesn't have any teeth. (Checking out my tummy) "You have another baby in there?" No honey, just baby Logan right here. (He then proceeds to squish on my tummy to be sure)

(August)
Mike: If we wrestle before bed then I want you going to bed without any problems.
Ethan: Maybe just one problem
Mike: What?
Ethan: I think I may have just one problem
Mike: no. no problems
Ethan: ok, no problems

Mom: Ethan do you need to go tee tee? (Grabbing his privates)
Ethan: No, I just tickling my penis
